Gold Megalo Convoy was one of two prize in a Lucky Draw campaign run by TV Magazine, with the other prize being a gold Master Galvatron toy. The figures were the last Galaxy Force Lucky Draw toys.

The toy was later used by TakaraTomy as one of many prizes in a Campaign run through their website. Only 1 additional toy was offered.

We have not found any confimation that Gold Megalo Convoy was used as a store campaign prize, and it would make sence that he wasn't used as one (as Gold Master Galvatron wasn't released).
